Roots of Life

We are as trees, life’s breath in our veins,
Rooted deep in the soil of the divine,
Connected to the Creator, where spirit reigns,
Nourished by the earth’s sacred design.

Our roots stretch down, anchored and strong,
In the unseen depths where mysteries lie,
Drawing sustenance to right the wrong,
And lift our branches towards the sky.

Each branch, a hand outstretched in grace,
Reaching out to the world, to hold and to heal,
Communities formed, embracing each face,
In the circle of life, where wounds we seal.

But when unrooted, we falter and fall,
Wither in drought, our life-force dries,
We must stand firm, or heed the call,
To return to dust under endless skies.

Yet in this dance of death and rebirth,
We give what we take, in balance complete,
For as we return to the sacred earth,
The circle of life, again, will repeat.
