Title: Expectation and Hope: The Heart of Advent
Opening Quote:
“The word advent means ‘expectation.’ What advent can do for us is create a sense of hope.” – Louie Giglio
Hello, friends!
Welcome to Advent, a time of anticipation, reflection, and—most of all—hope. Think of the word “Advent.” It means “expectation,” and what better way to describe this season? It’s about waiting with eager hearts for the joy of Christmas morning—the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Isn’t that a beautiful picture? Not just a little hope but overflowing hope.
Where in your life do you need that kind of hope? Is there a challenge, a dream, or a prayer you’re waiting to see answered? Advent is our reminder that God is at work, even in the waiting.
Let’s take action today:
Light a candle to symbolize hope and whisper this prayer:
“Lord, fill my heart with your hope. Help me trust in your promises and see your light in every situation. Amen.”
This Advent, let’s expect great things from a God who is always faithful.
