Research like a creep. Execute like a queen. Obsess like your dream depends on it—because it does.
She wasn’t overwhelmed. She was focused.
She wasn’t guessing. She was gathering intel.
And every time someone scrolled past her quietly curated obsession?
She smiled. Because she knew she’d already out-planned them.
Let’s be clear:
Success doesn’t come to those who dabble.
It comes to those who observe, adapt, and obsess with intention.
Joe Goldberg doesn’t just look.
He studies. He watches. He learns the rhythm of the thing he wants—and then moves in silence until he has it.
That’s what we’re doing today. But legally.
Step 1: Choose Your Obsession Board Targets
This isn’t about influencers. It’s about strategy.
You need 3–5 people who are:
- Doing what you want to do
- Serving the audience you dream of serving
- Profitable, not just popular
- Consistent AF
Here’s a sample lineup of Instagram accounts from my board this month
@theglobalcollectiveco Luxury resale + flip education. She teaches high-end strategy rooted in cash flow and market analysis.
@casachic_store
Sourcing queen + platform educator with a law background. A pro at extracting profit with minimal chaos.
@joy_by_emilee
Candle maker + marathon runner. Consistency, encouragement, and emotional connection to product = unmatched.
@bryconsigns
Work full-time. Resell full-time. Show up funny and real. She makes hustle look honest and human.
@gricewaxandwicks
Her candles? Art. Her stories? Poetry. Her grid? Bold and branded.
@kimberlyjohnsonco_
If Shopify had a favorite child, it would be her. Clean, professional design that screams trusted expert, all while disrupting ageism
@emilywelchstyle
Confidence-driven fashion and home decor strategist. Style meets storytelling.
@kellyreallyvintage
Branding through nostalgia. She wraps every piece in a personal story and sells the emotion, not just the item.
Step 2: Study Them Like Joe Would (But Again, Ethically)
You’re not just watching.
You’re breaking down the rhythm of their content, habits, and business flow.
Use These Prompts:
- What content are they posting weekly (format + topic)?
- What words or themes do they repeat over and over?
- How do they pitch? Story slides? Email? Captions? Reels?
- How often do they post value vs. make an ask?
- How do they brand emotionally? (Color? Music? Message?)
Tools to Track Like a Pro:
- Notion or Trello – Make a board called “The Obsession File”
- Instagram Saved Collections – Create folders named for each person
- Toggl Track – Time how long you spend consuming vs. creating
- Airtable or Google Sheets – Track patterns like it’s a sales pipeline
- Pinterest Boards – Rebuild their vibe in your own way visually
- ChatGPT – Ask me to help break down their captions, offers, or brand archetypes
Step 3: Steal Like a Strategist (Not a Copycat)
This is where we bridge the gap between obsession and execution.
Ask yourself:
- What are they doing that I can adapt to fit my strengths?
- What emotional tone do they use—and how can I make mine honest to me?
- What system do they clearly have that I need to develop?
Bonus: 3 Mini-Habits from Atomic Habits to Steal Now
- “Never miss twice.”
Didn’t post? Didn’t list? Cool. Just don’t let it become a pattern. - Habit Stack:
Example: “After I light my candle, I film one product reel.”
Link habits to rituals and they’ll stick. - Identity over outcome:
Say: “I’m the kind of person who shows up even when it’s quiet.”
Your results flow from who you believe you are.
Create Your Success Thread
In your journal, planner, or phone notes, write:
“This month, I’m stalking success—not out of envy, but out of clarity.
I study to evolve. I decode to innovate.
I do not waste time wondering if I’m good enough.
I watch. I learn. I adapt. And then, I win.”
Tomorrow: The Target Lock-In
One goal. One timeline. Zero, “we’ll see.”
You’ve studied the greats.
Now it’s time to compete with yourself—and do it with obsession.
