Tuesday Tips: How to Use the YOU Archetypes to Run Your Business Without Burning It to the Ground

YOU started your business because you had a vision, a passion, and a dream that wouldn’t let go. But somewhere between your fifth unfinished launch, 37 open tabs, and the gurus telling you to post content five times a day on multiple platforms, you hit a wall.

Burnout isn’t a badge of honor. And chaos doesn’t have to be your brand.

That’s where the YOU Archetypes come in.

Inspired by Netflix’s darkly magnetic characters, each archetype represents a unique strength and a common trap. Today, we’re using these profiles as a tool to help you build a sustainable business that works for you. (see what I did there)

JOE: The Obsessed Strategist

Strength: Laser focus. Analytical mind. Long-game thinker.
Trap: Overworking, micromanaging, and perfectionism.

How to use it well:

  • Turn your obsession into structure: create weekly targets and reverse-engineer your goals.
  • Schedule downtime like a strategy meeting and time-block for relaxation.
  • Automate or delegate low-priority tasks so you can stay in your zone of genius.

What to watch for: Burnout disguised as productivity. If you become truly productive, you will have more downtime and may be less inclined to burn-out. Use your phone’s Health apps, Apple Watch, Fitbit, or any Smart Ring to help reduce your stress

LOVE: The Passion-Driven Empath

Strength: Connection, compassion, purpose-driven storytelling.
Trap: Overgiving, people-pleasing, and emotional exhaustion.

How to use it well:

  • Set energetic boundaries: office hours, content breaks, and DM policies.
  • Create heart-centered content that drives conversions and connection.
  • Use your values as a compass, not a cage.

What to watch for: Compassion fatigue. Loving your audience doesn’t mean you have to lose yourself.

FORTY: The Chaotic Creative

Strength: Visionary. Inventive. Multi-passionate.
Trap: Scattered energy, shiny object syndrome, and too many unfinished projects.

How to use it well:

  • Create themed workdays to channel creativity with structure.
  • Use a content bank or idea tracker to harness your brainstorms.
  • Focus on ONE main goal each month.

What to watch for: Creative whiplash. Not every idea needs a domain name today.

KATE: The CEO with Boundaries

Strength: Leadership, clarity, and business savvy.
Trap: Rigidity, isolation, over-systematization.

How to use it well:

  • Show your audience the human behind the structure.
  • Use SOPs to scale smartly without losing your soul.
  • Lead with calm confidence, not control.

What to watch for: Cutting off the connection in the name of control. Your community wants you, not just your strategy.

BECK: The Dreamy Dabbler

Strength: Visionary aesthetic, relatable storytelling, magnetic energy.
Trap: Inconsistency, imposter syndrome, comparison.

How to use it well:

  • Create micro-routines that feel romantic, not rigid.
  • Limit your focus: one offer, one platform, one storyline.
  • Find accountability that feels safe and empowering.

What to watch for: Waiting to feel ready. Clarity comes from action, not another mood board. Analysis paralysis is real and an easy trap to fall into

Final Thought:

You don’t need to become someone else to be successful. You need to understand how you work best and build your systems, content, and strategies around that.

Let your archetype guide you—and evolve as you do.

Because success isn’t about becoming the next big thing, it’s about building a business that doesn’t burn you to the ground.

And even Joe Goldberg knew when to take a break.
