It’s hard to believe that it is already the end of July, and many kids are going back to school as early as NEXT WEEK! Time to gather up the requisite school supplies including cool backpacks and stylish lunch storage options. Gen X remembers the metal lunchboxes of our childhood. Mine held a PB&J sandwich, a Hostess cupcake or Twinkies, and a dream of trading for someone’s fruit roll-up. Fast forward to 2025 and enter the Bento box. It’s sleek, organized and intentional.
And suddenly, it hit me.
What if life worked the same way?
🍱 The Metaphor: Life as a Bento Box
Bento boxes are compact containers divided into compartments with each section holding a different food item. It’s not just about nutrition, it’s about balance, aesthetic, and choice.
Intentional living is like that too.
You only have so much space in your life box, so you start being mindful of what you fill it with:
- Work
- Rest
- Family
- Faith
- Creativity
- Wellness
- Joy
There’s beauty in not overstuffing. In choosing what fits and letting go of what doesn’t.
Because just like a Bento box, when you cram in too much, it gets messy.
